Abstract:
To provide means that can prevent or reduce sediments in a dam lake, or that can easily remove sediments in the dam lake and the surrounding areas.SOLUTION: A sand storage facility 4 prevents sand and stones from entering a dam lake 3 together with water flowing into the dam lake 3 from an upstream river 7. The sand storage facility 4 includes a right bank sloping part 20, a left bank sloping part 21, a bottom part 22, an overflow weir 23, a partition wall 24, a right bank side opening/closing gate 25, and a left bank side opening/closing gate 26. The right bank sloping part 20 and the left bank sloping part 21 are formed to cut through a right bank part 27 and a left bank part 28 of the upstream river 7 at a boundary between the dam lake 3 and the upstream river 7 so as to rise gradually toward outside the upstream river 7.
