Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a sandy material for a sand pool or for treating excreta of reared animals capable of being used cleanly and safely and enhancing deodorizing effect.
CONSTITUTION: This sandy material is prepared by adding antibacterial particles carrying thiosulfatosilver complex on silica gel to natural sand and silica gel particles, or further mixing with a paper sludge, a water absorbing polymer, silica gel, etc., and shaping the mixture into particles having a sand particle size, or adding antibacterial particles to the water absorbing particles of the mixture of a paper sludge, a water absorbing polymer, silica gel, etc., shaped in a sand particle size. The increase of various germs is inhibited by the silver complex. Further, owing to dehydrating action of silica gel, roundworm eggs are killed. Thus, a sand pool can be kept highly hygienic. This material is well suited for treating excreta of reared animals as bad smells are prevented by deodorizing action of silica gel and water absorption is increased when the paper sludge or the water absorbing polymer is used as the components.
