To provide a sanitary washing device which can drastically reduce an unusual sound generated when a multi-stage washing nozzle carries out periodical reciprocating motion.
The sanitary washing device is formed of: the multi-stage washing nozzle 20 having a plurality of slidable cylinders 100, 200, 300; a regulating means for regulating a maximally extended position of the washing nozzle 20 by abutting component members on each other; a nozzle driving means for driving the washing nozzle 20 for reciprocative motion between a stored position and an advanced position; and a reciprocating function for periodically reciprocatively moving the washing nozzle 20 in a predetermined range about a washing water spouting position P of the washing nozzle 20 set by the user. The nozzle driving means carries out a motion of advancing the washing nozzle 20 by a predetermined distance L+x that is longer than a distance of the reciprocative motion depending on the reciprocating function before driving the washing nozzle 20 in a storing direction by a predetermined distance 2L+x, at least once between the time the nozzle starts from the stored position and the time the motion by the reciprocating function is started.
