To provide a safe sanitary washing device which prevents noncontact operation from being erroneously executed.
A sanitary washing device comprises: a main body 200 which is installed on a toilet bowl and incorporates an electric operation function; and a remote controller 400. The remote controller 400 has a contact switch 410 and a non-contact switch 440. The main body 200 has a toilet seat 220, a seating detection sensor 250 which detects a human body sitting on the toilet seat 220, and a main body control section 240. The main body control section 240 controls the electric operation function, when receiving two operation signals from the remote controller 400, by selecting one of the operation signals on the basis of presence or absence of a detection signal of the seating detection sensor 250. Thus, the sanitary washing device can prevent erroneous operation even when the two operation signals are transmitted, thereby improving safety and reliability.
