To provide a sanitary washing device which has a practical remote controller with a long battery life.
A sanitary washing device comprises: a main body 200 which is installed on a toilet bowl 110 and incorporates an electric operation function; and a remote controller 400 with a batter as a power source. The remote controller 400 comprises: a human body detection sensor 300; a non-contact switch 440; a remote controller control section 500; and a transmission section 436. The remote controller control section 500 includes: a transmission drive section 560; a human body detection drive section 541; an illuminance sensor drive section 525; and a power source section 580 which can switch supply voltage between high voltage and low voltage. The remote controller control section 500 drives only the transmission drive section 560 and the human body detection drive section 541 in a standby mode where the human body detection sensor 300 does not detect a human body with the supply voltage of the power source section 580 kept at the low voltage and thereby enabling power consumption to be considerably reduced and extending a battery life of the remote controller.
