Title:
SAPONIN-CONTAINING FIBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3187193
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a saponin-containing fiber which can be efficiently used for anti-inflammation and skin color lightening by applying sponge cucumber saponin to the fiber surface in a specific amount to the fiber weight.
CONSTITUTION: Sponge cucumber saponin is included in a polymer such as polyurethane or urea-formaldehyde resin to prepare microcapsules. The microcapsules are added to an emulsion of, preferably organosiloxane as a binder and an emulsifier. Then, the emulsion is applied to natural fibers, regenerated fibers, synthetic fibers, nonwoven fabrics, woven fabrics or knit fabrics by dipping or roller-oiling so that 0.01wt.% or more of saponin may remain on the fiber surfaces to give the objective saponin-containing fibers which show the effects against skin roughening, injury, prickly heat, chaps, further tumors and hemorrhoids. The microcapsules and the silicone resin binder are picked up at a ratio of 2/1 to 1/5.
