To provide a satchel not needing much labor for opening and closing a slide fastener of a pocket and not needing to provide excessive members for forwardly tilting a front cover portion of the pocket.
In the satchel including the pocket portion 7 in front of a main storing portion 5, the pocket portion 7 has the front cover portion 9 constituted by sewing a folding back portion 12 constituted by inwardly folding back the lower part of an upper cloth 9a and an upper portion 13 of a lower cloth 9b, an upper gusset portion 10a, both side gusset portions 10b, 10b, and is provided with a slide fastener 11 whose both ends reach middle portions of both the side gusset portions 10b, 10b while extending over the upper gusset portion 10a and both the side gusset portions 10b, 10b, the upper cloth 9a of the front cover portion 9 tilts forward around the folding back portion 12 by opening the slide fastener 11.
