Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning conversion system which can convert an interlacing scanning system into a progressive scanning system at high speed without degrading picture quality.
SOLUTION: A decoding processing part 22 decoding MPEG2 data and a reference data storage part 23 which previously preserves pictures I and P for restoring a picture B constituting MPEG2 data are installed. The decoding processing part 22 extracts the picture B and a scanning conversion processing part 24 interpolates data of the extracted picture B, based on data of the picture I or P stored in the reference data storage part 23.
