The scanning type monitoring system for the rear of vehicle is configured of: a microprocessor controlling, through a system bus, a power supply and all data signals; a scanning type photographing means including a camera photographing the rear of vehicle and a scanning type transmission means having a single motor and rotating the camera by the motor to convert the direction of a lens; an image processor performing arithmetic processing to the image signal generated by the camera for encoding, and outputting the image signal from an output interface; and a picture display device having a display, and receiving the image signal output from the image processor through an input interface, and displaying the image signal on the display.
