PURPOSE: To provide a scavenging device of the bottom of a canal or the like which can suck and remove the precepitate of the whole bottom for dredging by a mud collecting plate and which is more preferable for an artificial canal having the concrete bottom.
CONSTITUTION: A mud collecting ditch 3 is extended at the center of the bottom 2 of a canal or the like. A dredging machine 16 composed of a mud collecting plates 10 widened like a V-shape from the mud collecting ditch 3 toward the proceeding direction and a slurry pump 7 discharging the mud in the ditch 3 in the nearby position of the base part of plate, is mounted on a dredger boat 4. The precipitated mud is collected in the ditch 3 by the collecting plate 10 and thickened and then pumped up. In this way, the whole bottom area is completely dredged in a short time without polluting the water.
