Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve processing efficiency by easily and surely selecting the desired scene out of moving image data.
SOLUTION: A representative frame image is extracted from plural frame images consisting of respective scenes, and index images 30-38 are prepared based on the representative frame image. When displaying the index images 30-38 on a multiscreen at the time of scene retrieval after the similarity of representative frame image is discriminated, markers 30A, 36A and 38A are displayed in the index images 30, 36 and 38 for which the presence of similarity is discriminated. Besides, the number of index images similar to the index image is displayed in display areas 30B, 36B and 38B concerning the index images 30, 36 and 38 to which the presence of similarity is discriminated.
