PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cutting performance of scissors and to keep good cutting performance for a long time by improving how to provide a back clearance in a case when a blade part has the back clearance formed by making the cross-sectional shape of the back of the blade depressed and curved into a circular arc-like shape in the scissors formed by pivoting two blade bodies each with an edge part.
SOLUTION: The back clearance provided on the back 5 of the blade of the edge part 2 is formed in such a way that the conduit bottom L of this back clearance omnipresently passes to the back 3 side from approximately the width center at the base end D of the edge part 2 and is a line approximately in parallel to the edge line 4. For example, the depression and the curve are ordinarily formed by bringing the peripheral face of a circular disc whetstone into contact with the back 5 of the blade under a condition where the rotating face of the circular disc whetstone is approximately at right angles to the longer direction of the edge part and performing grinding while it is moved in the longitudinal direction of the edge part 2, and in this instance, it can be formed by grinding while the top point of the circular disc whetstone is moved in such a way that the top point of the circular disc whetstone passes omnipresently to the back side from approximately the width center at the base end D of the edge part 2 and passes approximately parallel to the edge line 3.
