To provide a scrap preheating-charging device, in which the preheated scrap can be charged at almost central part of a melting furnace without developing any trouble, even in the case of melting down a part of the scrap during preheating in the device for preheating the scrap for additionally charging at the time of melting the scrap in an electric furnace for steelmaking.
A box type vessel 3 for preheating the scrap which coats the inner part with a refractory and arranges water-cooling means in the wall and provides an exhaust gas inlet 31 for receiving the high temp. exhaust gas from the electric furnace and an exhaust gas outlet 32 connected with a dust collector, is set at the position above and near the electric furnace, and a hydraulic cylinder 9 is arranged at the lower part of the vessel and the far side of the vessel from the electric furnace is pushed and then, the vessel is constituted so as to be possible to partially cover on the electric furnace by tilting with the lower part of the vessel at near the electric furnace as the supporting point. The upper part of the vessel is covered with a cover openable/closable for receiving the scrap to be preheated, and at the side wall faced to the electric furnace, a door 34 for charging the preheated scrap into the electric furnace, is arranged.
