Title:
SHOCK ABSORBING STRUCTURE FOR STEERING END
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3144313
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obviate a special shock absorbing means such as a shock absorber by deflecting a plate on which a steering box is installed, and absorbing a shock at the steering end.
SOLUTION: A front cross plate 10 is not particularly reinforced, and elastically deflects in a constant range when a longitudinal directional load is applied since its plate thickness is also properly set. A steering gear box 20 being a part of a steering system is installed on this front cross plate 10. According to this constitution, for example, at leftward turning time, when a shock is generated by contact of both at the steering end where a stopper bolt 32a comes into contact with a stopper block 32c, this is transmitted to the steering gear box 20 side through a chain 33 but when the shock is transmitted, the front cross plate 10 deflects, and absorbs a part of the shock, and thereby a shock applied to a gear row 20a, the chain 33 or the like is reduced.
