To provide a screen printing device which is capable of preventing occurrence of a printing failure due to the hardening of a paste, and a screen printing method.
In the screen printing device which prints the paste on a substrate by sliding a squeegee head 13 on a mask plate 12, a cream solder 5 pressurized by a pressurizing plate 32 inside the squeegee head 13, is guided into a printing space 35 through an opening part 31b and is forcibly fluidized in the printing space 35 by expanding/shrinking a plurality of bladders 38 arranged in the printing space 35. Further, the cream solder 5 is fully packed into a pattern hole 12a by a pressure transmitted by the expansion of the bladders 38. Thus it is possible to forcibly fluidize the cream solder 5 in any appropriate timely manner and consequently, effectively prevent the cream solder 5 from becoming hardened.
