Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an algorithm which is used for a digitized image to simulate a continuous tone image containing a range of gray shades from black to white or a color separation.
SOLUTION: The screen system used for reproducing a halftone picture of this invention is configured to include: at least two partial screen each corresponding to one print color; each partial screen specified by columns and rows of dots specified by a set of the dots, the dots being specified as print dots for a color tone value for multi-color print; and at least one partial screen with columns and rows which are not geometrically orthogonal to each other and where there is no equal spacing between the rows and the columns and dot centers are not in direct existence on addressable points in a halftone cell array.
