Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for simply assaying prolongation effect of growth period in hair in high precision and a short time in vitro. SOLUTION: This method for screening a hair growth period-prolonging agent comprises carrying out primary screening by bringing hair follicle epithelial cell into contact with a target substance, specifying existence and/or strength of the target substance and assaying effect keeping or prolonging growth period in hair cycle of the target substance and secondary screening by culturing human hair follicle in a serum-free culture medium to which a target substance whose effect is recognized by the primary screening is added and selecting the target substance by which elongation of hair follicle is recognized.
