Abstract:

To provide a hair bulb activating agent or hair growth period extending agent screening method capable of reflecting the influence of interaction between a mesenchymal cell and an epithelial cell and simply and efficiently performing evaluation representing only the effect of an objective substance itself.

In this screening method for a hair bulb activating agent or a hair growth period extending agent, the objective substance is added to an organ culture of a hair follicle tissue, and after cultivation for a predetermined time, an Alamar Blue assay is carried out by using only the hair bulb part for evaluating a growth period maintaining/extending effect in a hair cycle of the objective substance.
