Abstract:

To discover an excellent whitening effect and establish a method for precisely and efficiently evaluating the whitening effect.

An excellent whitening component can be precisely and easily selected by evaluating an inhibitory action of at least one kind of peptide selected from a group composed of adrenomedullin (ADM), proadrenomedullin N-terminal 20 peptide (PAMP) and adrenomedullin2/intermedin (ADM2/IMD), and screening a melanogenesis inhibitor. Further, a composition including such a component exhibits an excellent pigmentation preventing or improving action.
