To provide a screw compressor including a slide valve for regulating the operation capacity and improving the operation efficiency when the operation capacity is set at a small value.
In a casing of the screw compressor, the slide valve (70) is arranged at the side of a screw rotor (40). The casing is formed with a bypass passage (33) for bringing a fluid chamber (23) into communication with a low-pressure space. When the slide valve (70) slides, the size of an opening (34) of the bypass passage (33) in an inner peripheral surface (35) of a cylindrical wall (30) varies and the operation capacity of the screw compressor varies. In the slide valve (70), its end face (P2) is inclined to be along an extending direction of a spiral groove (41) of the screw rotor (40). A seat face (P1) of the cylindrical wall (30) facing the end face (P2) of the slide valve (70) is parallel to the end face (P2) of the slide valve (70).
