Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a structure for obtaining an assembly of a backing tile and a tip which is easy to produce and in which there is no danger of the tip falling particularly with regard to abrasion resistant members of the tip of a spiral blade of a screw conveyor for a decanter type centrifuge.
CONSTITUTION: An assembly consists of a backing tile 3 which is preferably made of the same kind of material as a spiral blade, and a tip 8 of abrasion resistant material adhered to the tile. In the lower part of the surface abutted on the tip 8 of the backing tile 3 (on the side near the center of rotation of the spiral blade), a pocket 5 blocked on both sides and extending along the surface of the blade is provided, and on the tip 8 side, a bent part 10 to be inserted into the pocket is provided. The bend part of the tip 8 is inserted into the pocket of the backing tile 3 from its front, and the space in the pocket is filled in with an adhesive 13.
