Abstract:
To provide a screw feeder for supplying glass materials in which quantity of nickel mixed in the glass materials can be reduced.
In this screw feeder, materials in a hopper 1 is supplied into the glass melting furnace 6 at high temperature from a discharge port 5 at a tip part 4 of a housing by means of a screw 3 incorporated in the housing 2 provided under that. The root part side of the screw 3 positioned at least at a lower outlet of the hopper 1 is formed of metal alloy that substantially does not include nickel.
