Title:
SCREW HAVING MAGNET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH116510
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To prevent metallic abrasion chips from being deposited on a made screw part, and to prevent the chips from being collided with a part of a movable part of a hand tool device by setting the ratio of the depth of a notched part to the outside diameter of a shaft part to be the value in the prescribed range.

A notched part 32 is provided on be shaft part 3, and the notched part 32 is opened on a free end of the shaft part 3. The depth T in the axial direction of the notched part 32 is approximately 1/3 of the total length L of a screw 1. The ratio of the depth T of the notched part 32 to the outside diameter of the shaft part 3 is 0.1:1-0.2:1. A magnet 4 is fixed to the notched part 32, and the outside diameter of the magnet is approximately equal to the inside diameter of the notched part 32. The magnet 4 is contracted step by step in the screwing direction so that a contracted end face 41 is positioned on the same surface as the free end of the shaft part 3. The shaft part 3 is contracted toward the free end. As a result, the magnet 1 surrounds the magnet 4, and metallic abrasion chips are collected only on the end face of the magnet 4 opposite to the screwing direction.
