The inside of a hermetically closed container formed by a housing 2 and a front housing 3 is formed to be an inhalation atmosphere, and a driven scroll 20 is journalled in a cantilever state and movable in a axial direction. High pressure coolant compressed in a compressing chamber 27 is discharged to a discharging chamber 27 formed in a parallel region of a back surface side of the driven scroll 20. Thrust force due to discharging pressure is adjusted to be slightly larger than thrust force due to compressing by adjusting the extent of the discharging chamber 27, and the driven scroll 20 is pressed on a driving scroll 10 with a moderate force. Thereby, tip ends of spiral walls 12, 22 is prevented from getting damaged.
