To provide a scroll compressor having a cross sectional shape for solving the problem that floating performance is deteriorated due to the interference of an edge part with a groove wall surface of the chip seal when force in a twisting direction acts on a tip seal since a chip-seal sectional shape is almost rectangular.
The cross section of a chip seal 244 is shaped so as to have chamfered escape portions 286a, 286b outside a counter seal surface in an approximately half roll section from a roll finishing end 285 of a rotary scroll 213 to a roll beginning side and a chamfered escape portion 287a inside the counter seal surface in another section than the approximately half roll section from the roll finishing end 285 of the rotary scroll 213. The sizes of the escape portions 286a, 287a, 287b are made larger as tending to a roll finishing side.
