To improve energy efficiency by preventing sealability from decreasing at an outermost engagement place between a fixed scroll and a revolving scroll and suppressing heating of a working fluid in a suction region.
A scroll compressor includes a fixed scroll 2, a revolving scroll 3 which revolves in engagement with the fixed scroll to form compression chambers 100a and 100b with the fixed scroll, a back pressure chamber 110 which applies the revolving scroll with pressing force to the fixed scroll, and an oil supply path which introduces oil of a compressor discharge side into the back pressure chamber. Further, the scroll compressor includes a compression chamber communication path 60 which has a back pressure valve 26 linked to only the back pressure chamber and the compression chambers after a start of confinement and opened and closed with differential pressure across itself, and allows the oil in the back pressure chamber to flow out to the compression chamber to control the pressure in the back pressure chamber, and a suction region communication path 65 linked to only the back pressure chamber and a suction region 105 reaching the compression chambers and supplying the oil in the back pressure chamber to the suction region.
