PURPOSE: To reduce the time required for the start up by introducing the gas in the high pressure port through a passage provided in the head plate of a revolving scroll to heat the center portion of the revolving scroll.
CONSTITUTION: Only the center portion of a revolving scroll can be effectively heated at the start up time as the gas applied to the back of the revolving scroll 6 is introduced into a housing 12 through a small hole 27 provided at the center portion of said scroll 6. Thus, the amount of heat consumed to warm the center portion of the scroll by the working fluid flowing into the center portion of the scroll 6 from a high pressure port 4 is reduced to maintain the superheat of the working fluid. when the superheat of the expanding working fluid is maintained at about same level of that of the fluid supplied to the high pressure port 4, a power same as in the steady state can be generated soon after the start up.
