To improve compression efficiency by preventing a compressed fluid from leaking outside from a compression chamber on the high pressure side.
A discharge port 10A of a fixed scroll 4A on the lower pressure side out of first and second fixed scrolls 4A, 4B is connected to a suction port 9B of the fixed scroll 4B on the high pressure side through piping 25a, 25B. A contact seal 27 is provided between the sliding surfaces of the turning scroll 17B and the fixed scroll 4B on the high pressure side. The contact seal 27 is formed as an annular body of U-shaped cross section larger in diameter than the compression chamber 20B1 on the outermost peripheral side out of a plurality of compression chambers and opened on the outer diameter side. The contact seal 27 is thereby constituted to lower seal bearing pressure to the sliding surfaces in response to pressure buildup in the compression chamber 20B.
