Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scum skimmer capable of adjusting the amount of scum-contaminated water flowing into a trough to a constant level.SOLUTION: A scum skimmer 1 comprises: a trough 5 receiving inflow of scum-contaminated water contaminated with scum floating on the water surface of a sedimentation basin 9; a damming mechanism 3 having a dam member 31 damming the scum-contaminated water flowing into the trough 5 at a damming position, where an upper end part 31a is located above the water surface, to block the inflow of the scum-contaminated water into the trough 5; and a pulling-up mechanism 7 pulling up the dam member 31 from an inflow allowing position, where the upper end part 31b sinks by a predetermined length from the water surface, to the damming position. The dam member 31 can stay at the inflow allowing position by the balance between buoyancy generated in the dam member 31 and the own weight of the whole dam mechanism 3 at the inflow allowing position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
