Title:
SEA WATER URANIUM COLLECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01108324
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To efficiently adsorb and collect the uranium in the sea water at a low cost by packing uranium adsorbents into sheet-like fiber bag bodies having water permeability and flexibility and supporting the bag bodies in the sea water.

CONSTITUTION: The uranium adsorbents such as acrylamidoxine fibers are molded to spherical, sheet-, straw-, or other shapes and are packed into the bag bodies 1 made of the sheet-like fiber woven fabrics having the water permeability and flexibility. Such bag bodies are mounted to posts made of concrete, etc., having high rigidity in the sea water. The bag bodies 1 are moved up and down by the wave energy of the sea water, by which always the fresh water is passed in the bag bodies 1 and the dissolved uranium in the sea water is adsorbed in the internal adsorbents. The need for the driving power to pump up a large volume of the sea water is eliminated and the device itself is utilizable as a wave dissipation structure in this method. The uranium in the sea water is thus recovered extremely effectively at a low cost.
