To obtain a seal or a sealing device for a ball screw in which grease does not end to be supplied to the ball screw used in low pressure or vacuum or purified atmosphere, gas is not generated from lubricating oil and the genera tion of dust is low.
In a seal for a ball screw provided between the screw shaft 1 of the ball screw and a ball nut 3 and in sliding contact with the screw shaft 1 or a sealing device 7 to which the seal is attached, the seal composed of seal pieces 6 and 7 or the like is formed of a porous body such as the sintered body of a polyimide resin having communicating pores with the volume ratio of 5 to 25% and the obtained product is impregnated with alkylated cyclopentane oil expressed by the following formula (here, R represents an alkyl group having straight chains or branches of the number of carbons of 4 to 130. m=3 to 4).
