PURPOSE: To enhance the sealing characteristics of a sealing device of a rotary heat regenerator which is installed in such a fashion that it may cross over a high temperature flow passage and a low temperature flow passage installed in a housing of a gas turbine or the like.

CONSTITUTION: In a sealing device which comprises a sliding material and a seal, a cross bar 3b is expandably fitted into a ring-shaped part 3A, thereby constituting the sliding material and its warping deformation is corrected with a support board while a seal 4 comprises a ring-shaped seal 4A and a cross bar seal 4B. A cut is provided at a butt-site where a joint seal 5 is interposed, which can change the height of the seal freely. A reinforcing material 7 provided with a 'C'-shaped part is mounted to a welded part 4C.
