Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal holder in a waterproof-seal mounting device, capable of effectively preventing misalignment of a waterproof seal and enabling the insertion work of an electric wire to be smoothly performed.
SOLUTION: A waterproof seal 40 is equipped with a terminal crimping part 40a of a smaller diameter and a seal part 40b of a larger diameter. A seal holder 57 is equipped with a holding hole part 57a for housing and holding the waterproof seal 40 when a terminal part of an electric wire 68 is inserted therein. The holding hole part 57a comprises a larger-diameter side holding hole part 57b for holding the seal part 40b in a loose-fit manner and a smaller-diameter side holding hole part 57c for holding the terminal crimping part 40a in a loose-fit manner, and is equipped with communication grooves 57d extending from an outer circumferential surface of the seal holder 57 and communicating with both sides, respectively, of an inner circumferential surface of the smaller-diameter side holding hole part 57c standing close to the larger-diameter side holding hole part 57b. Seal-movement limiting members 70 are provided that are operated to project into or retreat from the smaller-diameter side holding hole part 57c through the respective communication grooves 57d when the terminal part of the electric wire 68 is inserted in an electric-wire insertion hole in the waterproof seal 40.
