Abstract:
To prevent the wear of a sleeve constituting a seal mechanism for a pump.
Steel sleeves 29, 33 are press-fitted into fitting parts 172, 175 of a rotating shaft 17. The outer peripheral surfaces of the sleeves 29, 33 comprise straight peripheral surfaces 31, 35 and tapered peripheral surfaces 32, 36. The sleeves 29, 33 are quenched. The straight peripheral surfaces 31, 35 of the sleeves 29, 33 are polished. The straight peripheral surfaces 31, 35 are sealing peripheral surfaces with which lip seals 46, 48, 49 come in sliding contact.
