To easily manufacture a seal ring by compression molding by forming a protrusion at one end face of a metal ring, and disposing an expansive graph ite ring with the inclined inner peripheral surface, along one end face a so as to bury the protrusion.
This seal ring used for a valve or the like of a high-temperature high-pressure device has the metal ring 1 with the protrusion 1a formed on the upper face. The protrusion 1a is provided with the tip part of the inner periphery inclined at about 30° with respect to a center axis. An expansive graphite ring 2 is formed on the upper face of the metal ring 1. The expansive graphite ring 2 is provided to surround (bury) the protrusion 1a of the metal ring 1, and the tip part of the inner peripheral surface is formed to incline at about 30° with respect to the center axis in the same way as the protrusion 1a. In this seal ring, the inner and outer peripheral surface of the expansive graphite ring 2 serve as seal faces, and the durability of the seal ring can be improved by being reinforced with the protrusion 1a.
