To provide a seal ring at a low cost and with a high reliability.
A seal ring structure has a nearly annular-shaped seal ring for sealing between one of the members that constitutes a gastight chamber and the other member, and a nearly annular-shaped groove which is provided in one of the members and into which the seal ring fits. The seal ring formed by a string-like member, and has an overlapping portion where one end side of the string-like member in an outer radius direction and the other end side in a radially inner direction are overlapped. The string-like member is rectangular in its cross-section, and the surface that becomes an outer perimeter side when forming a seal ring is flat, an inner wall in a radially outer direction of a nearly annular-shaped groove is in a close contact with an outer wall in a radially outer direction of the seal ring. At an area corresponding to the overlapping portion out of a nearly annular-shaped groove, a wide groove portion of which width is greater than the width at one end side of the string-like member plus the width of the other end side is formed, the circumferential length of the wide groove portion is made to be longer than the circumferential length of the overlapping portion.
