Title:
SEAL STRUCTURE FOR HYDRAULIC CYLINDER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3807733
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal structure for a hydraulic cylinder capable of preventing oil film formed on a surface of a piston rod from being scraped off, which is caused by a backup ring disposed adjacent to a packing coming into strongly sliding contact with the piston rod surface.
SOLUTION: This seal structure for the hydraulic cylinder, in which a piston 4 mounted on the piston rod 5 is movably provided in the cylinder and which seal a sliding clearance between the piston rod 5 and the cylinder 1 through the packing 14 and the backup ring 17 disposed mutually adjacent to the cylinder 1, is provided with a diameter-expanding-direction deforming means of deforming the backup ring 17 in the diameter expanding direction by the axial force applied to the packing 14 toward the direction of the backup ring 17.
