Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent thermal deterioration of a resilient member, by a method wherein the open end, facing on a combustion chamber, of a seat member making slide contact with a slide valve body is steppedly reduced in size to insert it in the open end of an exhaust passage and the like, and this surrounds a resilient member through the force of which the slide valve body is pressed against the seat member. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust passage 7, open to a combustion chamber 6 formed with the upper end surface of a piston and a recessed part 3a of a cylinder head 3, and a suction passage are formed in cylinder heads 3 and 4, and slide valves 10 are respectively disposed to the open ends thereof. The slide valve 10 is formed with seat members 11 and 12, a valve body 13, a seal sleeve 14, etc. In this constitution, the seat member 11 includes a large part 11c, engaged with the recessed part 3a, and a small part 11c' engagedly inserted in a hole 3a' formed concentrically therewith. Further, an annular space 3c is formed with the end surface of the recessed part 3a, positioned facing that of the seat member 11 and the small part 11c', and the seal spring 14 is engagedly placed internally of the space 3c.
