Title:
SEAL SURFACE STRUCTURE OF BOOT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3877102
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent entering of a water drop due to osmotic pressure so as to secure sealing ability by forming plural groove parts reaching the outer peripheral edge of a lip in at least one of an inside seal surface and an outside seal surface, and leaving a remaining part behind by non-formation of a groove part on the inner peripheral side of the lip.
SOLUTION: Plural outer lip grooves 60 reaching the outside lip outer peripheral edge 58 are formed on the outer seal surface 48 of an outer lip 40, whereby the thickness of a part of a boot forming type slit forming part which forms a slit 50 between the inner lip 38 and the outer lip 40 that corresponds to the outer lip groove 60 formed in the outer lip 40 can be made larger than the thickness of the other part corresponding to the outer lip projecting part 62. Entering of a water drop due to osmotic pressure can be prevented by an outer lip remaining part 64 remaining on the outer lip inner peripheral edge 64 side so as to secure sealing ability. The seal surface structure can improve sealing ability while improving the durability of a boot.
