PURPOSE: To seal the noxious matter contained in the water exuded in the soil by using this sealant.
CONSTITUTION: This sealant consists of bone black, zeolite and coral fossil and contains 30-50wt.% of the bone black. A sealant 2 layer is singly provided in the soil in the horizontal or vertical direction or the layer 2 and a soil 3 layer is alternately furnished in plural layers, and further, a water-impermeable layer 1 and a water conduit 5 are provided below the sealant 2 layer. The noxious matter contained in the water exuded in the soil is adsorbed on the bone black and sealed, the adsorbed noxious matter is decomposed, and further, the heavy metal ion as the decomposition product is converted to a stable and harmless compd. The adsorptivity of the bone black is restored by the bacteria in the soil, and the noxious matter is sealed over a long period. Besides, since the noxious matter is efficiently sealed by the minimum amt. of the sealant, a large area can be covered.
