To provide a sealed battery that a lid body is airtightly joined at an upper end opening part of an exterior can and that a liquid injection hole on the lid body is airtightly sealed by a sealing lid.
This sealed battery is provided with a metallic exterior can 1 of a square shape with a bottom, a generating element 3 contained in the exterior can 1, a hermetically insulated electrode terminal 11, and metallic lid body 8 having a liquid injection hole 10 for an electrolyte solution, and the electrolyte solution is injected through the liquid injection hole 10 on the lid body 8, and then the liquid injection hole 10 is sealed. The lid body 8 is attached by means of a seam joining having a welding track formed by a laser welding so that a sealing lid 14, made of a metallic material, on an outer surface including the injection hole 10 makes a closed loop against the injection hole 10.
