Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed battery in which a welding defect of a conductive member and a movable member is prevented, and a manufacturing method of the sealed battery by which the conductive member and the movable member constituting a current cut-off mechanism are appropriately welded using an energy beam.SOLUTION: A sealed battery 1 comprises a current cut-off mechanism 62 for cutting off a current flowing in an electrode body 10 in the case where inner pressure F in a battery case 80 exceeds working pressure G. The current cut-off mechanism includes a movable member 64 including a moving part 64 which moves with increase of the inner pressure, and a conductive member 63 conducted to the electrode body. The conductive member 63 includes a protrusion 63A which protrudes toward the moving part. Between the protrusion and the moving part, a welded part PT formed by welding using an energy beam LB is interposed. The conductive member includes, in a protrusion peripheral part 63B of the protrusion, an annular groove 63BG which is ruptured by itself into an annular shape surrounding the welded part when the inner pressure exceeds the working pressure. The protrusion is formed by elastically pressing the moving part via the welded part.
