The sealed electronic drift thruster includes a magnetic circuit for producing a magnetic field in the annular main channel (124). The magnetic circuit has a magnetic core (138) encircled by a first coil (133), a plurality of outside magnetic cores (138) encircled by outside coils (137), an outside magnetic pole portion (134) having a recessed inner peripheral face (134), and an inside magnetic pole portion (135) having a protruded outer peripheral face (135a). The recessed inner peripheral face (134) and the protruded outer peripheral face (135a) each have a contour adjusted to produce the uniform radial magnetic field. Between them, a width-variable clearance is formed where a maximum value region (232) located adjacent to the outside coils and a minimum value region (231) located between the outside coils (137) exist.
