PURPOSE:To increase the volume efficiency and the productivity of a battery by stacking a current collector and current collecting plate and electrically connecting the current collector to current collecting plate in the portions where are not covered with synthetic resin layers to collect current from an electrode. CONSTITUTION:The outer surface of a current collector 1 is coated with an acid-resistant resin 2 and they are formed in 0.7mm in thickness and 9.5mm in diameter. The inner surface of a current collecting plate 3 is laminated with a modified polypropylene layer 4 as a polyolefin family synthetic resin layer. A burr 5 is formed in the current collecting plate 3 by a burr forming process. By heat-pressing the current collecting plate 3 and the current collector 1, the burr 5 pierces the resin 2 and bites the current collector 1 to electrically connect the current collector, to the current collecting plate 3. At the same time, the resin 2 and the layer 4 are melt-bonded. The volume efficiency of a battery is increased 3.7%, automatic assembly is made possible, and the productivity is increased twice.
