Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a sealed lead-acid battery having large capacity and excellent gas absorbing efficiency by using a separator mainly comprising glass fibers whose mean diameter is specified and containing a specified amount of specific glass fibers.
CONSTITUTION: A separator mainly comprising glass fibers whose mean diameter is 2μm or less and containing 5-50wt% glass fibers whose mean diameter is 10-30μm and mean length is less than 2mm is used. The separator consists of fine, long fibers 3 and thick, short fibers 4. The fibers 3 are entangled in the fibers 4 like an arch in the thickness direction of the separator 1. A sealed lead-acid battery having large capacity and high gas absorbing efficiency is obtained.
