Abstract:
To provide a sealing structure which keeps a sealing member from protruding when the sealing member is compressed in a flat face seal, and has improved pressure resistance.SOLUTION: A sealing structure 200 has a sealing device 10 that is arranged in an annular groove 15 in one of two members 11, 12 and that seals a gap S. A groove tapered surface is provided at a low pressure side L of a bottom face of the annular groove 15. The sealing device 10 includes a sealing member 31 made of a rubber-like elastic body and arranged at a high pressure side H, and a resin backup ring 32. A bottom face of the backup ring 32 is a tapered surface. The tapered surface forms an angle of more than 0°with the tapered surface of the annular groove 15. The backup ring 32 has a gap between an edge face at the low pressure side L thereof and a lateral face at the low pressure side L of the annular groove 15. The sealing member 31 and the backup ring 32 are arranged between the two members 11, 12 while being compressed by the two members 11, 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
