Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed type battery wherein a battery case is not to be swollen toward the outside if gas is generated internally, and a method for sealing wherein an filling hole for battery electrolyte can be sealed up so as to compose such battery.
SOLUTION: An electrode group 23 is housed in bottomed cylindrical battery case 2, and an opening 3 of the battery case 2 is closed by fixing a plate for closing up 4. By injecting desired quantity of the battery electrolyte from the hole 7 of the plate 4 into the case 2 or by fitting a member for sealing cap 33 in the hole 7 then sealing up the hole 7 in the low-pressure atmosphere, the inner pressure of the case 2 is set to have low pressure within the range of 25 to 90 kPa then the hole 7 is sealed up.
