Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a water application member retreat from water in a water storage container, when the water application member for applying water to a remoistening glue part on a sheet, is not used in a long term.SOLUTION: Water application means 60 comprises: a water storage container 68 which stores water 69; a water application member 70 which sucks the water 69 on a lower end part 70b side where is immersed in the water 69 in the water storage container 68, brings an upper end surface of an upper end part 70a side to which the water 69 from the lower end part 70b side is transmitted and exposed from a water surface, into contact with a remoistening glue part 8 on an envelope sheet 1 which is being transported, then applies water 69; water application member rotation means 71, (75L), 75R, 76, 78 for rotating the water application member 70 between an operation position where the water application member 70 is immersed in the water 69 in the water storage container 68, and a retreat position where the water application member 70 is made retreat from the water 69 in the water storage container 68; and control means 130 for controlling so that the water application member rotation means are at the operation position and the retreat position, in a sealing device 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
