To improve top plate setting work efficiency and to prevent the easy detachment of a top plate in a sealing device for a drop-in cooking stove wherein a seal packing 5 seated on an opening edge part of a cooking stove opening 1a opened in a counter top 1 in a state of being mounted to an outer bent flange 21 of an upper edge of a cooking stove body 2 of the drop-in cooking stove, is shaped to have an inner peripheral side thick-walled part 51 mounted to the outer bent flange and an outer peripheral side thin-walled part 52, and a hanging plate part 31 at the outer periphery of the top plate 3 is seated on the thin-walled part and formed with a folded part 32 at the lower edge.
A projecting piece part 57 projected outward is formed at a stepped surface of the outer periphery of the thick-walled part of the seal packing 5. The vertical position and outward projecting quantity of the projecting piece part 57 are set to allow the projecting piece part 57 to overlap with the upward projection plane of the folded part 32 in the state of seating the hanging plate part 31 of the top plate 3 on the thin-walled part 52.
