Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve various problems with eccentric width, heat resistance, airtightness, cost, maintenance-free, and durability by an L-shaped seal having flat surfaces and R surfaces having seals continuously and multi-dimensionally connected to each other on both surfaces in a seal device of a large diameter rotating body.
SOLUTION: In this sealing device comprising a cylindrical body rotatingly driven by a drive source and a fixed body disposed around the cylindrical body, a plurality of L-shaped seals having the R surfaces and flat surfaces in which the R surface of the cylindrical body is crossed and in contact with the flat surface of the fixed body in L-shape and parts thereof are freely, multi-dimensionally, and continuously in contact with each other on the R surfaces and flat surfaces by an amount of the outer periphery of a cylinder are installed, bores are formed in the flat surfaces of the seals, a slide is fitted to the fixed body, and the seals are freely connected to each other. A groove for seal material is formed in the contact parts of the seals to further increase sealability. By using tension means (spring and weight), the free connection is further made smoothly and adhesiveness (airtightness) is increased.
